I majored in Linguistics in 2017, immediately jumped into my M.A in Bilingualism that same year and started my PhD in 2019. Currently ABD, I keep learning and applying myself to Linguistics as my passion.
Interests
Sociolinguistics and Bilingualism are my academic interests, I want to incorporate experimental testing such as visual recognition tests to challenge the word gap theory and provide strong data that supports the importance of bilingualism
Research
I focus on experimental sociolinguistic research. Learning about language change and the social nuances behind it. I have worked with the Raizal community in San Andres, Colombia and with the Hispanic community in Philadelphia, PA.
Hobbies
I love my hobbies! I train Muay Thai as a way of keeping myself active and building community. I also sing, and have conducted extracurricular seminars at my department. I believe in the power of having hobbies and having fun with them
